Pilates breathing seminar
Following the line of technical seminars that we have been conducting for months, next April 24th we will conduct two special Pilates seminars, in which we will focus on breathing in this modality.
The objective of these sessions is to create awareness to the practitioner of the importance of breathing since, as explained by its creator, Joseph Pilates: “the exercise must start from a correct breathing”.
Details of the seminar:
The seminar will take place at both centres, so you can attend at the time that fits you best:
CEM Colom: at 14:00 h
CEM Can Ricart: at 19:00 h
A brushstroke on “why” it is so important
Pilates advocates that abdominal or diaphragmatic breathing distends the transverse muscle, which is the deepest and most important abdominal muscle. By habitually breathing with the lower part of the lungs and not adequately mobilizing the rib cage, we cause the viscera to tend to come out, atrophy the intercostal muscles and cause the shoulders to fall forward.
For this reason, as we grow older, we adopt the typical stooped posture. Therefore, Pilates exercises should be performed with specific breathing, in this case, costal, in order to strengthen the transverse muscle and reverse this process.
Who can attend?
This seminar is open to all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced.
Reservations:
You can reserve your place through the Lleuresportfitness application. Places are limited.
Come and discover how putting the focus on breathing during the practice of Pilates can solve many daily postural problems.
I have no doubt that we will see you there.
